Billing and settlement.
Charging is billed per session, charged to the driver as soon as they finish, and settled to the building’s own account. Nothing accrues, nothing gets invoiced, nothing gets chased.
What happens after a session ends

The session is priced
Energy delivered is multiplied by the rate that applied when the session started. A rate change never applies retrospectively to a session already under way.

The driver’s card is charged
Payment is taken immediately against the card the driver saved, through Pinch Payments. There is no monthly invoice and no balance to top up.

Funds settle to the building
Money moves to the owners corporation’s own merchant account. Volty’s platform fee is deducted from the transaction rather than billed to you separately.

Both sides get the record
The driver gets a receipt in the app; the building sees the session and its payment in the console, and can trace each payout back to the sessions inside it.

Payments, failures and tax
- What if a payment fails?
- The session is recorded as unpaid and the driver is notified so they can retry against the same or a different card. Nothing is silently written off, and the building can see exactly which sessions are outstanding.
- Are we the merchant, or is Volty?
- The building is. Each owners corporation gets its own managed merchant account, so charging revenue is legally yours and settles to your account rather than passing through us.
- What about GST?
- If the owners corporation is GST registered, that is recorded when the building is set up and receipts are issued as tax invoices showing the GST component. Rates are treated as GST inclusive.
- Can we see what a payout is made of?
- Yes. Every settlement in the console expands into the individual sessions that make it up, with the driver, the site and the energy delivered on each line, so it reconciles against your bank statement.
Payments, handled by Pinch
Volty does not hold your money. Card payments are processed by Pinch Payments, an Australian payments platform, and each building settles to its own merchant account under its own name. Volty’s platform fee is deducted per transaction rather than invoiced to you.
